Honeywell purifier filters: HEPA panel counts and separate pre-filters

Work out how many Type R or G panels the HPA model needs, then keep separate A/A+ or J-system pre-filters in the replacement plan.

View filters

Honeywell pack quantity and purifier capacity are separate facts. HRF-R3 is a box of three Type R panels, but HPA100 uses one panel, HPA200 uses two and HPA300 uses three.

Type G has the same issue in reverse: HRF-G1 is one panel, while some documented towers need two. Several of these systems also require a separate pre-filter that is not included with the HEPA panel.

HEPA panels needed per purifier

The pack reference does not change the number of panels installed in the purifier.

Translate the box into complete changes

An HRF-R3 three-pack supplies three complete HEPA changes for a one-panel HPA100, one complete HEPA change for a three-panel HPA300, or one two-panel change plus one spare panel for an HPA200. The separate pre-filter is still needed in each case.

Do not apply that arithmetic to Type F. HRFF6000 is documented as one integrated three-in-one filter rather than a box of separate HEPA panels.
